Grant awarded by Rotterdamse Stichting Blindenbelangen

We are pleased to announce that our project on patient-centred safeguarding for visual prosthesis trials has been awarded funding by Rotterdamse Stichting Blindenbelangen.

This funding will directly support our work preparing for the First-in-Human clinical trial of the Fountain Probe, a novel neuroprosthesis targeting the lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN), developed by Phosphoenix and conducted at Amsterdam UMC. With this grant, we will strengthen the development of tools to support patients and their families before, during, and after the trial, from pre-assessment and in-trial monitoring to long-term aftercare. This work is carried out in close collaboration with the University Miguel Hernández of Elche (UMH), whose team contributes extensive experience from prior visual neuroprosthesis trials.
